Yummy Summer Health Drinks:
Wheat Grass and Strawberry Almond Smoothies
I have a fab health drink that gets me balanced again on those days that I feel somewhat off, like I can't quite figure our what I need: fruit? more greens? protein? missing vitamins? You know that feeling where there is sort of a hole or a need and you don't know what it is, but you definitely need something!
Well, I have a perfect solution for that, as well as a great low calorie pick-me-up: It's my simple, handy-dandy (drum roll please):

Wheat Grass Smoothie:
It calls for 1 Cup of chilled Unsweetened (gluten free) Almond Milk (40 calories)
and
1 scoop of Amazing Grass (gluten free and raw) Wheat Grass Powder (another 35 calories)
(+ sometimes some probiotics for good measure)
Give it a shake, throw it in the Magic Bullet and Voilà!

Thanks for the recipe! Just a little tip, adding peanut butter to this type of the smoothie improves the taste tenfold and you get extra benefits like fiber and protein out of it as well.
ReplyDeleteHi BSB. Not a peanut butter eater, but others may appreciate that and I love it when people share here! So Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd personally go for throwing in a 1/4 or 1/2 an avocado if I wanted more protein, but nuts could work as well. We can always makes these recipes our own!
Anyway, I saw your link to Waring Blenders and they ARE the BEST! I still have my Grandma's old one that must be more than a half-century old by now and it's still a powerhouse! You could probably chop wood in it.
